My Favourite Things
I recently treated myself to a Vintage Bargello kit and I'm absolutely hooked! In fact I've only managed to tear myself away from it because I could feel my bum making an embarrassing indentation in the sofa and thought I'd better move before I got bedsores.
Bargello kits are a brilliantly satisfying way of covering a lot of canvas very quickly and still ending up with a striking finished product. I'm going to make mine into a cushion to add to my growing collection. I may put it in the indentation on the sofa where my bum's been... I suggest you use the 'Products Search' facility up there ^ and type in 'Bargello'.
And while we're on the subject of tapestry, may I also draw your attention to the Herb Pillows? They may seem a little pricey at first glance but they're brilliant! They come with printed canvas (so you don't need to crane your neck referring to a chart every time) and yarn. So far so normal, but you also get the material for the back of the cushion, the wadding to stuff it with and pot pourri (which is ace) and a presentation pack. I suggest you go to 'Cushions'. They'd make fantastic gifts, too.
Bothy Threads have really come up trumps with both their Mr. Men and Little Miss ranges (see 'Children's') and their fine art collection, including Klimt, Lowry and the Impressionists. I will shortly be settling down with a cup of tea and one of those Mr. Bump nameplates for Tiddler's bedroom door. He can barely walk yet, but insists on running everywhere, arms outstretched, so that he can cover as much ground as possible before he falls over. If he gets any more bruises people will start eying us with suspicion!
The items listed above are only a selection of my favourite products; there are plenty I've not even had a chance to get my mitts on yet. But at this rate I'll have no stock left because I just can't resist it!
Probably best I find another hobby...
